CocoCommerce, Inc., provides a business-to-business (B2B) transaction management platform to enterprises and e-marketplaces that enables trading partners to manage the fulfillment, payment and settlement of transactions online. These critical steps in B2B e-commerce, which complement and integrate with an enterprise e-supply chain and e-procurement efforts, meet a growing need and deliver powerful economic benefits to B2B trading partners.

These economic benefits, which directly contribute to a company's bottom line, including:

  • Cost savings through reduced value-added service and internal transaction
         management costs;
  • Improved organizational efficiency through reduced transaction fulfillment and
         settlement cycles;
  • Improved revenues through more efficient cash flow; and
  • Improved risk management and customer service levels through greater
         transaction flow visibility.

    CocoCommerce provides transaction management tools through eNetSettle (http://www.enetsettle.com), a transaction management platform that can function independently or offer integrated services for private and public B2B e-marketplaces. eNetSettle provides a wide array of transaction management services, including:

  • Financing

  • CocoCommerce was founded January 2000 by Ariu Levi, a successful entrepreneur who co-founded and later took public Fundtech, Inc., one of the leading providers of wire and payment solutions for financial institutions worldwide. Together with a management team that brings more than 80 years of electronic payments and settlement experience to the company, CocoCommerce set out to understand the market's need and deliver the first working solution to B2B transaction management.

    What they discovered was growing demand for online transaction management services, no practical solutions to meet the need and increasing demand from e-marketplaces for a single-source solution for transaction management services.

    Virtually every one of the more than 1,000 public and private e-marketplaces they spoke with stated a need for online transaction management services. Their primary driver: meeting customer demand for the ability to fulfill and settle transactions online.

    Their conversations with analysts revealed that as e-marketplaces mature, they increasingly are looking to value-added services such as transaction management not only to improve user experience, but also to provide additional revenue sources. (See reports by JPMorgan's Raimundo Archibald, Aberdeen's Adrei Arkhipov, Keenan Vision's Vernon Keenan, PNC's Greg Domaracki, and Jupiter's Marc Harrison.)

    Convinced of the need, CocoCommerce set out to study the practical applications of e-transaction management by creating its own marketplace, CocoExchange, in July 2000. What its management discovered in a case study transaction of a $500,000 medical equipment lease was that online transaction management generates significant economic benefits to both buyers and sellers:

    Transaction Efficiency Gains Buyer Seller
  • In Project Management Labor
  • $24,000 $8,500
  • In Goods & Services Purchased
  • $33,000
  • In Inventory Carryover Value
  •   $6,500
      ========= =========
    Total $57,000 $15,000
    As a percentage of transaction value 11.4% 3.0%
    Trade cycle reduction (120 to 90 days) 25% 25%

    A 2001 Ernst & Young study projected a similar type of economic benefit to companies that implement e-transaction management solutions: two-percent of cost of goods sold. A company with $1 billion in sales, for example, would realize more than $20-$30 million in net income through eNetSettle.

    CocoCommerce is well positioned as the first provider of a single-source platform for B2B transaction management to benefit from a growing appreciation of the need and benefit for online transaction settlement services. Company Fact Sheet
